James and Elizabeth had 4 children. After Elizabeth's death, James married again and had 6 more children.

From a Noxon Genealogy Book in the Syracuse Library written by Fannie Noxon Hudson in 1915 -

Elizabeth Cadwell Noxon, wife of James Noxon was said to be one of those quiet, affectionate, generous and self-sacrificing women who while they shrink from notoriety leave an indelible impression upon the hearts of those with whom they come in contact. The beauty of her Christian character drew to her with ties of love all who were privileged to know her. She died at the early age of 39 whilst living in the home erected by her husband at the same time his father was building, and occupied at the same time spring of 1855. The house is now standing at the corner of James and Townsend sts and is now occupied by Dr. Edward Wynkoop (Nov 1915).
