Gertie Fae Wallace, age 86, of Oklahoma City. Died November 27, 1983. Mrs. Wallace was born in Pooleville, Oklahoma. The daughter of the late John C. and Mattie Tomlinson Baker. She attended school in Elmore City, Central State University, Hills Business University, and had many extension courses from other schools. She taught school at Klondike School and is a retired employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Was a charter member of Luchanya Delphin of Ardmore, is a member of Ladies Music Club, The McDowal Club, The University Literature Club, The Oklahoma Study Club, The Panaromanic, The Jefferson Bryan Club Democratic Women, Telephone Pioneers, The LaPetite Seour Big Sisters, a member of the Double Circle Class and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wallace was appointed honorary colonel on Governor Gary's staff in 1958 and again under Governor Bellmon. She was also in Who's Who's in Oklahoma in 1965.

Her survivors are her husband, Herbert C. Wallace Sr. of the home; a son Herbert C. Wallace Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Herbert C. Wallace the III of Chicago, Karl Wallace of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lisa Ann Wallace of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Lilian Elsterman of Huntington Beach, California, Augusta Lee Simpson of Culver City, California; brother, John C. Baker of Columbus, Kansas; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be Wednesday at 11:30a.m. at the Rose Hill Mausoleum. The family has designated the Baptist Children's Home as appropriate for expression of sympathy. Directed by Guardian Midtown.
