Walter A. Anderson, 209 Eleventh Street, well known cattle buyer of Idaho Falls, died in a local hospital Thursday morning following a lingering illness. He was one of the first members of the War Bonnet Round Up committees in early days.

He has lived in this section of the country since 1900, when he moved with his family to Iona, where the family cleared the sagebrush for a homestead. He was born April 26, 1876, at Hyrum, Utah, a son of Andrew C. and Eliza Jane Curtis Anderson, pioneers of the Iona district.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the LDS Church and a charter member of the local BPOE lodge.

He was married Jan. 30, 1923, to Helen Jane Titmyer at Dillon, Mont. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 1943.

He is survived by the followings sons and daughter: Mrs. Jean Bradley, Shelley; Mrs. Shirley McBride, MRs. Sue Peterson, Idaho Falls and Walter A Jr., Crest Mills, Calif. Six grandchildren also survive.

Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Louis Empey, Ammon; Mrs. A. B Keefer, Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Wade Strahle, Idaho Falls. Six brothers have preceded him in death.

Funeral services will beheld Saturday at 2 p.m. at the LDS Third Ward with Bishop ARthur D. Thomson officiating. Friends may call at the family home from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home.
