She saw the replacement of wagons and mules with cars, tractors and airplanes. She watched oil lamps and "outhouses" give way to electricity and indoor plumbing. She endured the Depression and two World Wars, the Korean, Vietnam and Cold War.
At an early age she joined the Calvary Baptist Church, Yale, VA.
