Evelyn Nelson Hurlburt of Colchester died Tuesday at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown. She was 84.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in the Westchester section of Colchester for 18 years. She had lived in East Hampton for many years, where she and her husband owned and operated the former Hurlburt's Appliance Store. She was a former member of Bellville Chapter No. 46 OES, East Hampton.
She leaves a son, Milton A. Hurlburt of Westchester; a daughter, Lillian H. Jonah of Westchester; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Bradford Hurlburt; a grandson, Richard Jonah Jr.; and two sisters, Olga N. Rankl and V. Theresa Wilcox, died previously.
Calling hours are today, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton. The procession will leave the funeral home Friday, at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1E High St., East Hampton. Burial will be in Marlboro Cemetery, Marlborough
