He served his country during World War II in the European theatre. Ruben was a lifelong resident of Cutler and received the Boston Post Cane in 2008. He was also a member of Cutler Lodge. Ruben was a hardworking father and loved to fish, hunt and trap.
He is survived by his four children, Ruben Jr. of Machias, Danny and wife, Mary, of Springfield, Mass., Trudy Stotz of Cutler and Fred and wife, Patti, of East Machias; eight grandchildren, Lori, Chris Huntley, Corey Huntley and wife, Tamara, Calvin Stotz and wife, Johnna, Susan Albee and husband, Keith, Mirissa, Brian and Jacob; two stepgrandchildren, Darrell McGuire and wife, Piggy, and Deavan Brown and husband, Eric; and eight great-grandchildren. Ruben was predeceased by his loving wife, Lynette, in 1978.
