Daughter of Robert Turner & Kathleen Bartlett Turner Finley

Dorothy Ilene Norman of Heltonville, IN, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on May 3, 1928, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Robert Turner and Kathleen (Bartlett) Turner Finley. She married Dale E. Norman on March 16, 1946, and he died on September 8, 1989.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda Brown and her husband, Harley, of Bedford, IN; one son, Byron Norman and his wife, Pam, of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Naomi Norman and her husband, Harold, of Bedford, IN, and Anah Mae Briscoe and her husband, Gene, of Mitchell, IN; two brothers, Richard Turner and his wife, JoAnn, of Harlingen, TX, and Robert Turner and his wife, Ann, of Monticello, KY; three grandchildren: Evan Brown of Naperville, IL, Whitney Pettit, and Caitlin Norman, both of Bedford, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Michaela and Emily Pettit. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother (in infancy); and one grandson, Byron Norman, Jr.

A 1945 graduate of Heltonville High School, she was a beautician for thirty-seven years. She was a member of the Donica Memorial Church of God and a former member of the Meadows Church of God, where she was a song leader, Sunday school teacher, and active in the Women's Missionary Society for many years.

Services for Dorothy Norman will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22nd, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kendall Hendrickson officiating. Burial will follow in Meadows Church of God Cemetery.
