STANTON AVERY
Edwin Stanton Avery was born on Turkey Creek north of Seneca, May 21, 1869. He departed this life at the Brown County Infirmary, Tuesday, November 19, 1957, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and s8 days.
He grew to manhood three miles west of Sabetha. When a young man he was united in marriage to Miss Lora A. Moulton December 24, 1894. A son Myron, was born to their union. Mrs. Avery preceded him in death, having passed awy i March 1941.
Mr. Avery made the Christian profession early in life and united with the Sabetha Methodist Church, where he was a faithful member, until he went to Tucson, Arizona, about ten years ago.
He is survived by his son, Myron, of Morrill, a sister, Mrs. Mildred Galbraith of Oakland, Calif., other relatives and friends.
The "Memorial Service" for him was held Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Reinhart-Clayton Funeral Home in Sabetha, with rev. John W. Campbell, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Byers Erickston, with Miss Gertrude Braun as he raccompanist, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Whispering Hope." at the service. Interment was in the Sabetha Cemetery.
