Rachel Helms, age 95, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lonnie Helms and her parents, O.W. and Louisa Daily Howard.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandrail Dean (James) Barrett; her grandchildren, Regina K., Rusty (Deborah) and Ronnie (Sharon) Gulley; great grandchildren, Christin (Andrew) Hays, Ricky (Julia) Parvin and Shelbie Gulley; great great grandchildren, Maddox and Emma Kate Hays.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
There will also be a service Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Blountsville, Alabama, with burial in Rock Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4475 County Road 49, Blountsville, AL 35031. The family would like to thank all of the staff at P.G. Legacy Rehab and Comfort Care Hospice.
