SWOPE -- Charles William Lee, passed away March 4, 2003. Charles was born in Beggs, OK December 30, 1919 to the late, Peter and Mattie Swope. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He was a Veteran of WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the Boston Avenue Methodist Church where he served as an usher for many years. After retiring he worked for Ajac Electric. At the age of 83, he still walked regularly with his walker at the St. John Health Club, where he was an inspiration to everyone he met. He is survived by: his wife of 45 years, Fatha; sons, Tom Swope and wife, Regina of Sapulpa, OK, Don Swope of Tulsa; step sons, Ken Kindley and wife, Nancy of Joplin, MO and James Kindley of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters, Erma Dutschendorf of Aurora, CO, Edna Bingham of Tulsa; brother, Jack Swope and wife, Lila of Tulsa; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. A True Family Man. Service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2003 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel. Under the direction of Moore's Eastlawn, 622-1155.
