The daughter of Robert Gordon Acheson and Emma Elizabeth Moore. After his first wife died, Emily married Lorne Elmer Nichols on 14 Jul 1936 at St. Thomas, Elgin County, Ontario at the home of her parents. She was the second wife of Lorne. Emily graduated from Victoria College in St. Thomas in 1926 and in 1928 from Alma College for Ladies in St. Thomas. Emily was a School Teacher until 1936 when she married Lorne. She died in St. Thomas.
