TANKERSLEY, Ethel Ruth Varnadoe, passed away Feb 6, 2003 in Kindred Hospital Tampa, FL. She was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Lumber City, GA and moved to Florida in Dec. 1930. She was the daughter of Thomas H. & Josephine Varnadoe. She worked with the Hernando Co. Nurse, operator for Southern Bell, Ladies Aux. with Brooksville Regional Hospital, member of R.S.V.P. since 1972, delivered holiday meals to shut ins and member of the Brooksville Assembly of God church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Tankersley and a brother, Hubert Varnadoe. She is survived by one son: Joe Brooke & Wife Deborah of Punta Gorda, FL; 2 Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Rudolph & Ardelia Varnadoe of Brooksville and Richard & Betty of Salt Springs, FL; a Sister-in-law Inez Varnadoe of Plant City, FL; also 3 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for friends will be 6-8pm, Sun., Feb. 9, 2003 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am, Mon., Feb. 10, 2003 at the Brooksville Assembly of God Church with Rev. David Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
