Anna Selfridge Dies Thursday

Member of Family Prominent for Many Years in Lima - Illness of Long Duration

Mrs. Anna Selfridge, wife of O. B. Selfridge, Sr., died at the family residence, 650 W. Market-st, shortly after noon Thursday after an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. W. K. Brice and was born near Columbus Grove on December 29, 1861, coming to Lima at the age of 9 years. She was educated in the public schools here and was graduated from Wooster university.

Mr. and Mrs. Selfridge were married in Lima on November 9, 1887. She leaves beside her husband two sons, Calvin S. and O. B. Selfridge, Jr., and two grandchildren. Mrs. Selfridge was a sister of the late Senator Calvin S. Brice.

Mrs. Selfridge was a member of the Market Street Presbyterian church, member and secretary of the woman's advisory board of Wooster university and past regent of the Lima chapter, D.A.R., besides being active in a number of clubs here.

Her ancestors were among the first settlers in Lima. She was a descendant of the Cunningham family who came here in 1833, her mother being the first white child born on the site of what now is Lima.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon but all details have not been completed.
