ARCHER CITY, Texas - Emma R. Davis, 94, died Monday, June 29, 1998, in an Archer City nursing home.
Services will be at Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Archer City with the Rev. John Welter, pastor, and Roger Deerinwater, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Archer City, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas, under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis and Ross Davis were married March 14, 1920, in Marlin, Texas. He died July 4, 1950.
She had lived in Archer City since 1927 and was an independent oil producer from 1952-68. She also worked as a cook at the Archer City Nursing Home for several years. She was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church, where she served as a pianist and Sunday school teacher.
A son, James R., died April 23, 1985. A son, Vernon R., died April 16, 1986. A daughter, Eileen Beveridge, died in 1997.
Survivors include five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
