Virginia, a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, retired from the Murphy Five and Dime Store.
Survivors include her sons Albert Brooks and his wife Agnes of Urbana, John C. Brooks of Rosewood; 7 grandchildren Cindy (Silveria) Graham, Shelly (Silveria) Clayton, Tony Silveria, David Brooks and his wife Brenda, Michael Brooks and his wife Tammy, Beverly (Brooks) Hines and her husband Tim, and Carol (Brooks) Fathbruckner and her husband Brian; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David in 1947; a daughter, Gayle Silveria in 1998; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Brooks in 2010.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana with Rev. Clifford Kissinger officiating.
The family is being served by the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
