KOBOS- Mary Ann (Swank), passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 at the age of 81. Born May 24, 1925 in Guthrie, OK, she was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret Swank. Mary Ann was raised in Stillwater, OK and graduated from Oklahoma A&M College, where she taught English from 1945-1952. After living in Chicago, where she worked at the Armour Institute, Mary Ann returned to Stillwater as co-founder of Labko Scientific Incorporated, an electronics contractor for NASA. Mary Ann resided in Tulsa since 1971 and dedicated much of her time as a Scout Leader, School Volunteer, and Deacon at John Knox Presbyterian Church. She worked at Edison Middle School (now Edison Preparatory School) for over 21 years, beginning in 1985. Mary Ann was preceded in death by: her husband, Fred Kobos; and by her siblings, Chilton Swank, Olive Swank and A.R. (Robert) Swank, II. She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Labarthe of Houston, TX, Richard Labarthe of Oklahoma City, Steven Kobos of Tulsa, and Sarah Kobos of Tulsa. Mary Ann is also survived by: her sister, Margaret Jane Swank of Stillwater; and brother, David Swank of Norman; as well as several grandchildren. The Memorial service will be held 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2007 in the Kerr Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, following a private family committal.
