Former local resident Joseph W. "Joe" Reno, 86, of Blue Lake, CA, died May 4, 1994 in Blue Lake. He was born March 1, 1909, in Macomb, IL, son of William and Ina Campbell Reno.

He grew up in Illinois and during World War II moved to Bremerton, where he worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until the war ended, then moved to the Castle Rock-Longview area, and worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, and wild animals.

He is survived by a stepson, Ronald Murray of Castle Rock; a step-daughter, Delores Brown of Longview; numerous nieces and nephews; and several step-grandchildren in the Castle Rock area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Alta Reno; his parents; two sisters, Margaret Reno and Inza Wayland; and a brother, Garnet Reno.

A graveside ash committal service will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Tower road Cemetery in Castle Rock with Don Sheldon officiating.
