WRIGHT, Perna Weeks, 92, of Stanleytown, died Wednesday, December 16, 1998, at her residence. Born February 23, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Elijah Gagelee Weeks and Delilah Catherine Smith Weeks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Nash Wright, a daughter, Catherine Wright Gadd; her sisters, Iturea W. Burnette, Hattie Stultz, Tennie Shumate and Ola Guthrie; and her brothers, Sherman Weeks, Pierce Weeks. Mrs. Wright was a member for 55 years of the Pocahontas Bassett Baptist Church, where she served as the President of the Women's Missionary Society and as a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. She was a member of the Bassett Garden Club, the Floyd Courthouse Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Mildred Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was graduated from Radford College. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
