BONSALL - Vaughn Orville Chaney, 76, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, in Fallbrook.
Born March 25, 1926, in Casper, Wyo., he lived in Bonsall and Fallbrook for 13 years. He retired as an appliance serviceman after 22 years with White Westinghouse in Compton. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook.
Mr. Chaney is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maxine Chaney of Bonsall; brother Clarence C. Chaney of Newhall and Charles C. Chaney of Casper, Wyo.; and sister Vi Bates of Long Beach.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fallbrook, with the Rev. Bud Karcher officiating. Burial will follow at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
