Mr. Travis "Dooley" McMahan

Mr. Travis "Dooley" McMahan, age 76, of Whitney, died early Saturday morning, May 26, 1990 in a Clifton hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 28, at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney, Rev. David Leach and Rev. C.C. Schultz officiating, burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. McMahan was born September 22, 1913, in Whitney, the son of Earl Quigg and Ethel Greenwade McMahan. He moved away from Whitney when he was five years old and then moved back in 1945. He married Dot Hays January 18, 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for 25 years for Contel Telephone Company and retired in 1978. He was a member of the King Memorial United Methodist Church. He worked had to get and help with the Animal Shelter in Whitney.
He is survived by his wife, Dot McMahan of Whitney; two brothers, Baker McMahan of Whitney and Quigg McMahan of Folsom, California; two sisters, Martha Haynes of Hillsboro and Cecelia Gunn of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
