He was born October 17, 1915 in Rosanky, Texas to Frank and Lena Waneck. Joe proudly served with the 2523rd AAC Base Unit in Hondo, Texas during WWII. He then worked for Butter Krust Bakery for 35 years and retired in 1982 as Sales Director. He was a faithful member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church for 46 yrs.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Beatrice; 2 daughters, Gail DuFresne and Janice McCoy; a brother, Harold Waneck; grandchildren, Joseph DuFresne, Becca DuFresne Bartholomew, Austin DuFresne, Claire DuFresne, Sean McCoy, Robert McCoy and Kelly McCoy. Joe was also blessed with 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ainsley DuFresne as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
He will be dearly missed, but in his own words, "Death is not the end, only the beginning."*
SERVICES A rosary for Mr. Waneck will be recited Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 7PM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, January 11 at 9:15AM at the church followed by a committal service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
