ROCHELLE - Eneval M. Askeland, 92, of Rochelle, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at his residence.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Beamsley officiating. Burial will be in Lawnridge Cemetery, Rochelle. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle.

A memorial has been established for the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Mr. Askland was born July 22, 1907, in Esmond, the son of Ole and Lisa Askeland. He married Jeannette Winterton on July 31, 1935, in Creston. She survives. He farmed from 1942 to 1975 and then was employed by the Rochelle Park District from 1975 until retiring in 1982. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church of Rochelle.

Survivors include a son, Jerry (Linda) Askeland of Mount Prospect; a daughter, Joanne (Doug) Fisher of Rochelle; three grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Art, Oscar and Adolph; and two sisters, Martha Thuestad and Anna Johnson.
