I have the North Dakota death certificate for James Craft b. 25 Feb 1868 and d. 27 Dec 1943. It Lists Nehemiah Craft and Artie Thornsbury as his parents. I also have the Montana Death Certificate for Jason Joseph Craft b. 30 Aug 1859 and Nehemiah and Artie are listed as his parents.
KY Marriage records show that Nehemiah and Rebecca were married 20 Sept 1877 in Letcher Co. KY.
This means that the children of Nehemiah Craft and Artie Thornsbury are:
John Craft b. 1853
Benjamin b. 1855
Isaac Craft b. 1857
Jason Joseph Craft b. 30 Aug 1859
Allen Craft b. 1864
James "Doc" Craft b. 25 Feb 1868
Campbell C Craft b. 1869
Richard Craft b. 20 Oct 1870
Jason, James and Richard were all brothers that moved from KY to ND.
This information can be verified by our family Bible, death certificates and the census' of 1860 and 1870. There could have been more children prior to the death of Artie and the remarriage to Rebecca.
It is unknown when Artie passed away. The KY Marriage records show Nehemiah and Rebecca Hughs were married 20 Sept 1877. Then in the 1880 KY census shows Nehemiah and Rebecca living together with 2 children, Campbell (age 9) and Henry (11 months). This would indicate that Henry Clay Craft b. 17 June 1879, was the first child born to the union of Nehemiah and Rebecca.
