Eugene Davis Rothrock was the fifth of twelve known children of John Gideon Rothrock (1854-1929) and Lucinda Mariah Lawrence (1857-1927), who married 24 Dec 1876 at Forsyth County, North Carolina.

Eugene married Stella Pearl Harper (1895-1971) on 22 Aug 1914 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Soon after marrying the family moved to California where all of their five known children were born, namely:

1. Ellen Lucinda Rothrock Christie (1915-1993)
2. Eugene Franklin Rothrock (1917-2002)
3. Berniece Elaine Rothrock Adams (1919-2003)
4. Harold Max Rothrock (1923-1980)
5. Anna Belle Rothrock Ilten (1928-1992)

Stella remarried to Ruffin Yarborough after Eugene died. She is believed to be buried at an unknown cemetery in Riverside, California.
