THE DEATH OF RUSSELL E KENNY

E Russell Kenny, 44, of Lafayette route 6, died of complications at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the US Veterans' hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Kenny was born in Tippecanoe County September 4, 1893, and married Gladys Carpenter on October 30, 1920. He enlisted in the United States army in July 1917, and was discharged in Paris January 24, 1919. He then joined the American Red Cross for duty in the Balkan states, serving until September, 1919, when he was personally cited by the king of Rumania. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian church, the Lafayette post No.11 American Legion, the drum corps, and 40 & 8.


Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Eileen: the father, Pierre Kenny: two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Stark of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. George B Asche, of Indianapolis, and two brothers, Roscoe of Lafayette, and Charles, of Lafayette route #6.


Friends may call at the Soller-Baker funeral home after 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. Services will be conducted from the funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. W. R. Graham officiating. The American Legion post No 11 and drum corps will act as pallbearers and conduct military services at the grave. Burial will be in Kenny cemetery. Legionnaires have been requested to meet at the legion home at 7 o'clock Monday evening to go to the funeral home in a body.
