Obituary from the Tulare Advance-Register:
Samuel C. Haviland, 83, a Tulare area rancher for 30 years died yesterday at Downey.
He ranched southeast of Tulare from 1925 until last year, when he moved south to be with a son, Raymond Haviland.
A native of Erie, Kansas, he is also survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva Haviland, and three grandchildren. He was a member of the Erie Masonic lodge.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 at the Hamilton Peers Funeral Service chapel. Burial will be in Tulare Cemetery.
