Louis Heller was born 3 February 1842, son of David and Catherine (Arnett) Heller, pioneer settlers of Henry County.

He married Anna Margaret Wagner on 12 February 1867. Their children were:

After marrying, he farmed one of his father's places for a time, and then he purchased a farm which at the time was only partially improved. He brought it under a high state of cultivation, making it one of the most desirable places in the locality.

Mr. Heller was a member of the Trinity United Evangelical Church and lived in strict conformity to the teachings of his belief.

He died at his home in Loraine township, Monday, April 7, 1902, after a lingering illness of over a year.

He was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a kind and generous neighbor. A large circle of friends mourned with the family at his passing away.

He was a member of Geneseo Camp No. 40, Modern Woodmen of America of Geneseo. A delegation from the Camp attended his funeral which took place at Trinity Church on 10 April, Rev. E. S. Woodrum of Geneseo, and Rev. A. C. Huffman, of Loraine, officiating.
