Funeral services will be at 2pm TODAY at Crestwood Chapel for Delsie Irene Strickland Abbott Baty age 89, of Pell City formerly of Glencoe, who died Saturday, February 12, 2011. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Baty lived the last years of her life in the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Pell City. She had lived most of her married life on College Street in Glencoe. She was a lifetime member of Glencoe First Baptist Church. She also was an avid fisherwoman, and loved camping in the many state parks in Alabama. In later life she loved her phone conversations with relatives and visits from her great-grandchildren. Her family will remember her stories and ability to make everything seem funny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Amanda Strickland; husbands, Fred Thomas Abbott and Lindy Berg Baty; daughter, Myra Moon Jeffers; grandchildren, Jennifer and Craig Jeffers; and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Freddie Michael Abbott; daughter-in-law, Brenda Ward Abbott; grandchildren, Laura and Tony Ensley, Michelle and Mike Davenport, Phillip and Crystal Abbott, and Daniel Abbott; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm TODAY at the funeral home
