Mabel Bullington, 68, 2202 Mississipi Ave, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at a local nursing home after a long illness. She was the daughter of William Curtis Mosbaugh and Ida Lee Warren Mosbaugh.
Mrs. Bullington was born May 8, 1916, in Joplin and was a lifelong resident of the Joplin area. At the time of her mother's death in 1946, she worked at the Pennington Drug Company in Joplin. She had also worked as office manager and bookkeeper fo Midwest Services for many years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Kum Dub'l Sunday school class, and the United Methodist Women's Guild. She was a member of the Joplin Business and Professional Women's Club, and had held various offices in the club, and was named Woman of the Year in 1975. She was also a member of the Joplin Iris Society, the Joplin Pilot club, and the Joplin Stamp club. She had done volunteer work for Oak Hill Hospital Auxiliary. Her husband Roy Bullington, whom she married in 1952, died March 12, 1962.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Carl Junction Cemetery. Dr. William Henderson, minister, will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Mortuary.
