He was using a loader to push branches and clean up in the grove after the storms last week. He must have accidently put the tractor in reverse as it backed into a large limb of a tree which crushed him against the steering wheel.
Funeral services have been set for 1:15 Thursday at the McCullough funeral home, and at 2 o'clock at St. Luke's Lutheran church at Fairville with the Rev A. C. Krueger in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bierstedt is survived by his wife, son James, at home, and two daughters, Vergene, Sentral freshman, and Mrs. Andrew Hermanson, of Ruthven. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fred Erickson, Lotts Creek, and Mrs. Arthur Gade, Algona.
He is also survived by his father, Fred Bierstedt, Whittemore. Mrs. Bierstedt is the daughter of the Wm. H. Hanovers, of Whittemore.
He was born August 14, 1909 on the farm, and lived all his life in the Fenton-Whittemore vicinity.
