My brother, Jim, was a special man. Look at the smiles . . . He could always get me laughing.
Jim was born in Bowling Green, Ohio; his parents were William J. and O. Grace (Sprague) Tatham. His father gave the name "James Byron" from a WWII buddy.
There were 2 brothers but just 1 sister. We all lived in North Baltimore, Ohio. There's a span from Tom and Jim - 15 years; I'm about 7.5 years from each brother. We weren't close until we each were out of BGSU and we had spouses. Jim and Tom worked in OH; I lived in too many states. I would see Jim at least yearly.
Jim married Lisa Mathias from Cygnet and had two sons, Tyler and Trenton. Jim loved babysitting; his first grandson, Aiden!

We tried to see if who would scream - TCSM is considered one of the greatest—and most controversial—horror films of all time. I took Jim home then I went my pj's and I in my bed. It was a nice night so my room was open in the windows [no air conditioners]. Jim had just enough time to open a chain saw under my bedroom window! - Sis

James B. Tatham, 54, of North Baltimore passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green, after a long and courageous 4 year battle with cancer. He was born on April 14, 1957, to William and Grace (Sprague) Tatham.
He married Lisa Mathias on August 16, 1985, and she survives. James is also survived by his father, William (Sally) Tatham of Celina, OH; two sons: Tyler and Trenton Tatham both of North Baltimore; father and mother-in-law: Richard and Linda Mathias of Cygnet, OH; brother, W. Thomas (Maria) Tatham of Bowling Green; sister, L. Renee Salomone of Boulder, CO; two sisters-in-law: Joanie (Bill) Straley and Jennifer Scannell both of Cygnet; grandson, Aiden, who was his pride and joy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive Grace Tatham
James was a quality control inspector for Rosenboom Machine and Tool. He was a member of the North Baltimore Masonic Lodge, an avid sports fan, and was very supportive of the local community.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, OH, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, North Baltimore. Reverend Susan Kronbach will officiate. Burial will be private.
