Rozella Kilgore was born on Feb. 25, 1918, to Anna Ophelia (Vinyard) and Lonzo Albert Kilgore in Whorton Bend. She had four brothers and three sisters. She accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord as a young girl and served Him as her Master and King for the rest of her life.
She married Carmon Kidd in January 1937 and they had three daughters. Carmon would later die from injuries sustained in a car accident. Through the years she worked at Allis-Chambers, Dobson's, JCPenney on Broad Street, Burl's and Electric Maid Bakery. Her cakes were always beautifully decorated.
She later married Stanley Chance and moved to Michigan, but after a few short years was once again a widow. She lived in Michigan until retirement in 1982, then returned to Gadsden where she lived at the Holy Comforter for the next 27 years. She made many, many lifelong friends. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and a friend to all who met her. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed, but is finally at rest in the arms of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carmon Kidd and Stanley Chance; parents, Anna and Lonzo Kilgore; brothers, Finis, Bud, Melvin and Clyde Kilgore; sisters, Lila Mae and Sadie Ruth Kilgore; grandson, Steven Kalo; and great-great grandson, Matthew Schoonover.

Hallmark; grandchildren, Theresa White (Mark) Schoonover, Vicky White (Keith) Larson, Evan Grimes and Eden Grimes; great-grandchildren, Morgan White, Ella White, Tristen Larson, Mark (Cindy) Schoonover Jr.; great-great grandson, Jacob Schoonover; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special in-law, Eddie Kalo.
