Young Child Drowned In Irrigation Ditch
William, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Boaldin, was drowned in an irrigation ditch south of the city yesterday afternoon. The boy had been in the habit of throwing stones into the water, but as he always kept away from the ditch, this was permitted. Mr. Boaldin missed him after he had been playing near the ditch for a short time and a search was begun, which ended by finding his body about 200 yards from the point where he fell into the water. The discovery was made by John Rehder and Earl Hyde, neighbors. The accident happened at the ranch owned by Mrs. Maclay, this side of Fort Missoula.
Mrs. Estelle Bennett, of Deer Lodge, grandmother of the child, was notified by the father who came to the city last evening and no funeral arrangements will be made until her arrival.
