MANY CASES OF TYPHOID.

Almost Epidemic in Parts of Freedom Township--Mrs. Langham the Third Victim in One Family.

With the death of Mrs. Carrie Langham, wife of Frank A. Langham, who died about 12 o'clock last night at the home of D.D. Sell in Freedom township, near Leamersville, the epidemic of typhoid fever which is prevalent in certain parts of that township claimed its third victim in one family within the short period of two weeks.

The fever, which started a few weeks ago at McKee's Gap, and which is said to have been caused by impure water at that place, has spread to various other portions of the township until at the present time more than a dozen cases have been reported, a number of which are extremely critical. A 3-year-old daughter of the deceased died but a week or two ago from the disease, and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Greenleaf, also feel a victim to the dread disease. The husband of the deceased and two sons have had the disease for the past week and at the present time are in a very critical condition.

Mrs. Langham was aged 25 years and, besides her husband and two sons, Emory and Chester, who are ill, is survived by a daughter, Sarah, her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Baker, and one brother, Mahlon Baker of Brooks' Mills.

Private funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment in Riverside cemetery, at Leamersville.
