Alvon M. Dahl (1927 - 2011)

Alvon M. Dahl, 83, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8911, Fort Worth, Texas.

Alvon was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Bosque County, near Clifton, to Palmer S. and Hannah Tusti Dahl. Upon returning from overseas after serving in the U.S. Army during War World II he moved to Fort Worth and married Melita Williams. He was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church and he retired from General Dynamics after 47 years. Alvon was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Dahl, and sister, Hazel Pederson.

Survivors: Children, Neil A. Dahl and wife, Melba Wilson, Emily Merchant and Bruce H. Dahl; grandchildren, Derrick and Monika Merchant, Chad and Shawna Merchant, Sean and Clarisa Merchant and Blake Merchant, Nicholas Dahl and Adam Dahl; great-grandchildren, Ava Merchant, Addie Merchant, Wyatt Merchant and Casen Merchant; and sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Dahl.
