Hough Funeral is Held At Crescent
Widow of Clement Hough came here by boat in 1869.

Funeral services were held at the Latter Day Saints' church here Monday for Mary
Leona Pratt Hough, who died Friday at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.

She was the youngest daughter of Felix and Gabrilla Pratt, now deceased and was
born in Chattooga County, Ga., Feb. 28, 1864. Had she lived until Feb. 28, she would
have reached her sixty-sixth birthday.

In 1869 per parents migrated by steamboat from Memphis, Tenn., to Omaha, and located
in Potawattamie County, where she has since resided.

She united with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1881, being
baptized by Elder J.H. Hansen at Crescent, Ia., where her membership is recorded.

On Dec. 25, 1884, she was married to Clement Hough of Crescent and to this union were
born seven children, six of whom are living: Harry and Ross Hough of Crescent, Mrs. Faye
French and Miss Ella Hough of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Clara Myers and Mortimer Hough of
Pleasantville, N.J. Other survivors are fourteen grandchildren; one brother, Pratt of Crescent; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Watts of Crescent and Mrs. Jane Boyd of Norton, Kan.

Her husband died Aug. 25, 1927.

All the children were present at Mrs. Hough's funeral except Mrs. Myers and Mortimer Hough, who were unable to attend due to illness. Out-of-town relatives present were Mrs. Jane Boyd and daughters, Mrs. Alice Rollins and Mabel Boyd, of Norton, Kan.; Mrs. Mary Pratt of Mondamin, Ia; Jonas Pratt and family of Modale, Ia.

Funeral services were conducted by Elder J.A. Hansen, assisted by Elder Smith. The body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in the Crescent Cemetery.

Mrs. Mayme Osborne and Mrs. Jessie Jewell, friends of the family sang two selections. The pallbearers were Clair, Blair and Ralph Pratt, Harry and Charley Watts and Howard Terry.
