Etta Mae Persons was born in Oklahoma City OK on August 11, 1926, to Alexander and Pearl Darragh. Etta went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2011. She married William Manning in 1949, and three children were born of that union. Etta and Bill raised their family in Ada OK before moving to Oklahoma City in 1960. She later opened Etta's Gift Gallery in Bethany, a store dedicated to selling the finest collectibles in the world. Her store was an immediate success, and Etta became active in numerous professional collectible clubs. On Feb. 14, 1991, Etta married Jim Persons, and they enjoyed the remainder of their years going to Lake Eufaula where they restored 35 acres of lake property.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband Jim Persons, daughter Linda Manning, and stepson Mike Persons.

She is survived by her sons Billy Ray Manning and wife Maryann, and Dean Manning and wife Beth; grandchildren Leisha Lee and husband Tony, Jason Manning and wife Dana, Justin Manning and wife Lindsey, Jenna Harlow and husband Joshua; and great-grandchildren Kayla Lee and Madeline Manning; step-children David Persons and wife Deb, John Persons and wife Jo, Kathy Osborne and husband Tim, and Cam Husted and husband Tom; and step-granddaughter Bonnie McKenzie and husband Brad. Etta was known to her family as Nanny, and she will be missed by them all.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Sat. Feb. 19, 2011, at Bill Merritt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
