LEE FUNERAL RITES SLATED
Funeral services for Rev. Charles Guy Lee, retired Baptist minister, are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Monday from the Jefferson Street baptist Church.
Rev. Lee Hopkins, pastor, will officiate. He will be assisted by Adam Cline and Rev. Claude Baltrop.
Rev. Lee,1107 Fourteenth, lived in Wichita Falls for 40 years. He was last pastor of the Mabel
Dean baptist Church near Petrolia. He died Friday night in a Whichita Falls hospital.
He held pastorates at the mabel Dean Church for 10 years, Holliday Baptist church from 1926-28, Petrolia
Baptist Church, Cashion Baptist Church, Midway Baptist, Black Flat Baptist, Thornberry Baptist and Kamay
Baptist. He organized the Kamay church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Lee; four nephews, Archie H. Lee, William Guy Lee Sr. both of Ardmore,
Oklahoma, Wright G. Lee of Pryor, Oklahoma, and B.C. Smith of Tucson, Arizona.
He was a mason since 1914 and a member of the Petrolia Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star.
Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home. Pallbearers
inlude Wade Matthews, L.L. Daniels, Albert Allison, Jewel Parker, Rome Simplins and Ed Owen.
The body was taken to the residence Sunday at 2p.m.,where it will remain until 12:30p.m. Monday when it will be
taken to the church.
