Services for Mrs. Margaret J. Cline, 73, of 34 Ablett Village, will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Robert J. Blake Funeral Home, 226 Collings Avenue, Collingswood, where friends may call tonight. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Cline died Saturday in Cooper Hospital. Born in Wales, she lived in Camden 50 years, and was employed as a clerk at the YWCA for 21 years.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph of Gloucester City, Joseph of Westville, and Kenneth of Somerdale; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Goscinski in Texas, Mrs. Margaret Carney of Haddonfield, Mrs. Ruth Reed and Mrs. Annette Brady of West Collingswood, and Mrs. Janet Marley of Fulton, N.Y.; a sister, 24 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was born in Wales, the eldest daughter of Edward J. and Mary A. (Davies) Hopkins. She was named for her grandmothers Margaret Jones Davies and Jane Harris Hopkins. She had three siblings--a brother, David Hopkins (1890-1954) and two sisters, Esther M. Hopkins (1899-1949), and Rachel A. Hopkins (1902-1991).
Margaret came to America in 1914. She became a housekeeper and later married Joseph M. Cline* in 1918, and they had seven children:
1. Kathryn (Cline) Knowles (died 1964)
2. Ralph M. Cline (died 1997)
3. Mary E. (Cline) Goscinski
4. Joseph H. Cline (died 2012)
5. Margaret E. (Cline) Carney
6. Ruth (Cline) Reed Wagner
7. Janet (Cline) Marley (died 2011)
She was widowed in 1929. She later had two more children after the death of her husband: Annette (Cline) Brady Wright (died 1995) and Kenneth J. Cline (died 2013).
By the 1940s, she was employed at the YWCA.
*Joseph M. Cline's sister Emma K. Cline was married to Theodore H. Davis, a first cousin of Margaret J. (Hopkins) Cline, making Joseph & Margaret Cline's children and Theodore & Emma Davis' children first cousins as well as second cousins.
