Little May Morgan Passes Away After A Long Illness.
Wednesday, March 29, at 9 A. M. the death angel entered the home of brother and sister Eddie and Alice Morgan and claimed their only daughter, May, age 3 years, 2 months and 6 days.
Little May was a patient suffering invalid and all that loving hearts and hands could do for her was tenderly done, and yet God saw fit to take her home. It is hard for us to realize that she has left us; she had just begun to give promise of recovery when she took fever and was taken away.
We commend her pure bright spirit to God who gave it; and the sorrowing parents and friends, we point to you to Him who said "Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted," blessed promise.
Brother Arnold conducted the funeral at Vernon, the writer assisted.
One of the most pathetic sights was the sick mother leaning over casket and kissing her sleeping pet as it was carried out of the home.
The beautiful white flowers that wreathed her brow and covered the grave were emblematic of the pure life just gone out.
We know May's shining form waits beyond this world where grief's dark night enshrouds our sad lives - at heaven's gate we shall meet her where all is light -
Oh! not in cruelty, not in wrath,
The reaper came that day,
When the father had gone away,
'Twas an angel came,
And carried little May away.
