Mt. Carroll, Ill., Sept. 20.— William H. Christian, 88, lifelong resident of Mt. Carroll, died Monday at 7 p.m. in a Sterling nursing home. Born Feb. 11, 1861, at Mt. Carroll he was the son of Jacob and Susan Christian. His marriage to Miss Adeline Fulrath took place Dec. 25, 1889. Christian was a retired farmer, and was superintendent of the Carroll county farm from 1915 to 1937.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Vernon of Rockford and Fred of Sterling; one daughter, Mrs. Neptune Phillips of Garrison, N.D.; and one brother, George of Chicago. Funeral arrangements are being made at the Christian funeral home here. -- Tues., Sept. 20, 1949, Freeport Journal-Standard.
