She married three times, first to a man named Carter (nothing is known about him), second to the father of her children, Abraham Darland, and third to Charles Ruble. She lived in Mercer Co., Kentucky, Parke Co., Indiana, and Mahaska Co., Iowa. She gave birth to and raised 10 children. She could not read nor write. In the book "Poweshiek County Cemeteries, Vol. 1" it says "Row #12 Ruble, Rebecca d. June 4, 1873; aged 74-1-30; wife of CB."
