Martha P. Coleman
Mrs. Martha P. Coleman, age 90, of Whitney, died June 24, in the Whitney Hospital. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney, Joe Blakeney officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mrs. Coleman was born September 18, 1891, in Bosque County. Her parents were Georgia and Sam Wade. She lived in the Whitney area most of her life and married Ben Coleman December 7, 1907. He preceded her in death June 14, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wesley, in 1932 and a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Alexander, in 1976. She was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.
Survivors include: six daughters, Mrs. Anna Gilmore of Fort Worth, Mrs. Minnie Shuff of Houston, Mrs. Oleta Brazil of Houston, Mrs. Lessie Alexander of Whitney, Mrs. Jewell Edwards of Houston and Mrs. Doris McCauley of Fort Worth; one son, Edward Coleman of Houston; sixteen grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren.
