Former Corunna Resident Dies.
Edward D. Rice, 83, of Saginaw, native of Corunna and hotel operator in Saginaw for many years, died early Sunday morning at the home of his son, Edwin N. Rice, 400 West Main street, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at the W. L. Case Company Chapel in Saginaw Tuesday at 4 p.m., the Rev. Lloyd Brasure officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery there. The body will rest at the Jennings-Lyons Chapel until 9 p.m. today.
Mr. Rice was born in Corunna March 3, 1864, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rice, and spent most of his life in Saginaw. He was married to Mary E. Tenbroeck there in 1903. For some years Mr. Rice was foreman of a lumber mill in northern Michigan. More recently he operated a hotel in Saginaw.
Surviving are the widow and son, both living at the younger Mr. Rices' home in Owosso, and two grandchildren.
