Mary was born in March 1841, in Michigan, daughter of Adam Bower, born in Canada and Freelove ________, born in New York. She died December 18, 1914, at Towanda, Butler County, Kansas. Their known children were:
Anna M., b. 25 Jun 1866 in Wis.;
Earl Carl, b. Feb 1870 in Leon, Iowa; &
Nellie C. Laforge, b. Feb 1870 in Leon, Iowa.
John was an Army veteran having served five years in Company B, 4th U.S. Infantry Regiment as a Private. He was discharged June 14, 1860. He did not serve in the Civil War. There are no records that John or his widow purchased a plot in this cemetery and no gravestone exists for him. His daughter Anna is also buried there with a gravestone.
