Marion Wesley Dickerson was born on 10 Oct 1922 in Sandwich, De Kalb, Illinois. He was one of the eight children of Marion Francis Dickerson and Sadie Alice Leggitt.
Marion married Gladys M Sansoucie on 24 May 1940; together they had two sons.
On 15 Oct 1943 he joined the US Army as a private. During World War II he bayonetted in the neck by the enemy. He also received a leg injury due to flying shrapnel which caused him to wear a leg brace the rest of his life.
Marion died on 15 July 1983 and was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
