Marion married Gladys M Sansoucie on 24 May 1940; together they had two sons.
On 15 Oct 1943 he joined the US Army as a private. During World War II he bayonetted in the neck by the enemy. He also received a leg injury due to flying shrapnel which caused him to wear a leg brace the rest of his life.
Marion died on 15 July 1983 and was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
