Samuel Hare, 87, of 426 Mulberry St., died yesterday in the Hawthorne Home, 1501 Mineral Spring Rd., where he had been a guest for the last two weeks.
Born in Reading {Molltown}, he had been employed by Curtis-Stephens-Embry Co., Inc., shoe manufacturers, for 47 years prior to his retirement in 1943.
Preceded in death in 1944 by his wife, Laura (Smith) Hare, he is survived by two sons; Howard H., at home, and Charles R., of Scranton; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a brother, Daniel, and a sister, Mrs. Alda Frey, both of Reading.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Gibson & Sanders Funeral Homes, the Rev. J. Dennis Williams Officiating. Burial will be made in Laureldale Cemetery.
