Married Bodil Marie Hansen (Madsen). In 1854, he left Denmark. After arriving in Iowa City, they secured a wagon and a team of oxen and started the long journey of 1300 miles across the plains. After many long weeks of weary travel, Carl Julius Lehn became sick and died. He was buried somewhere along the Platte River.
