Omer A. Ast, 91, Kansas City Kansas, passed away at North Kansas City Hospice House, Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Omer was preceded in death by one son, Norman E. Ast, a granddaughter Melody Lesher, two sisters, and 3 three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Hazel, two sons Gerald Austin, Gladstone, Missouri and Scott Ast, Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Omer is a life long member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #101. He retired from Clarkson Construction Company after 43 years of dedicated service in 1988.
Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas, followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Lenexa, Kansas.
