First married Elizabeth Strickler on 25 November 1822 in Shenandoah Co, Viriginia; they were the parents of 9 children - 8 boys and 1 girl, viz Isaac, Mary (Mrs. Adam Neff), Peter, David, Abram, John, Henry, Joseph and Jacob; Elizabeth died in March 1840.
Second married Rachel Romick on 29 October 1840 in Champaign Co, Ohio; they were the parents of 4 children - 3 boys and 1 girl, viz Michael, Barbara Ann (Mrs. Joram Neese), Samuel and Daniel; Rachel died in 1846.
Third married Mrs. Rachel Crabill Landaker on 20 July 1846 in Champaign Co, Ohio; they were the parents of four children - 2 boys and 2 girls, viz Aaron, Caroline, Jonas and Emma.
Samuel removed from Shenandoah Co, Virginia to Ohio abt 1837 where he purchased a US Land Patent for 100 acres in Champaign Co. He was a successful farmer and much beloved by his large family.
Died at age 68 years, 11 months, 6 days.
